Common Mistakes that Business Leadership must Avoid

“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality,” said Warren Bennis, an American scholar, organizational consultant, and author, widely regarded as a pioneer of the contemporary field of Leadership studies.

Leaders have the role to organize and manage their business in a very effective manner. But with day-to-day work activities, leaders forget to focus on some essential things. Leaders are not bad people but in making their business stay ahead in the market competition they forget to focus on their employee’s work performance. That can really damage the growth of your business. Leaders are like normal people who make mistakes but mistakes in the workplace can cause the business a huge loss.

Here are some Common Mistakes that business leaders must avoid.

Not taking time to bond with people:

When leaders do not care about connecting with their people on a human level then it can damage the workplace environment. If a leader does not invest their time in bonding with their employees, customers, or potential stakeholders then it will reduce the productivity and engagement at the workplace and will make the staff members unsatisfied with the business. Deep bonding helps the leader to connect with their employees on an emotional level and they will be able to understand their employee’s problems and issues more effectively.

Being unavailable and inaccessible:

One of the qualities of a successful leader is delegation. A leader is well aware of their employee’s strengths and weaknesses and they can use those strengths for delegating new responsibilities or tasks to their employees. But when a leader delegate task but does not provide clear and transparent information to their employees related to their work then it will make the employees confused in their work and they will not able to provide better results. Also, when an employee face any difficulties in their work but the leader is not accessible to help them then it will damage the quality of work.

Not focusing on developing talents Common Mistakes  :

Most of the times leaders have them all focused on driving an excellent result to help their business achieve its goal. But they forget to focus on their employee’s performance. Employees are the backbone of any business if the leader does not help them or encourage them to develop new skills to improve their performance then it will create a bad working environment in the office.

Not giving regular feedback:

Effective leaders track their employee’s performance on a regular basis. This helps them to point out the area where their employees need improvement. Although honest feedback can often upset the employees they feel valued that someone is making sure about their performance. If the leader does not provide any feedback to their people then there will be no improvement in the work performance of their employees and their company’s growth will be stuck at the same place. One of the best examples of successful leadership is Trevor Koverko, a former hockey player for the Ontario Hockey League, and a draft pick of the National Hockey League’s New York Rangers. Trevor Koverko Toronto was an early adopter of cryptocurrencies and he fully immersed himself in the blockchain space. He has since become focused on the burgeoning industry by founding several cryptocurrency startups.
